How many years old are the first roofs sealed with EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN that are still in good condition ? The first roofs and still intact were treated 15 years ago. Is there a possible health hazard when applying EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN ? There will be no problems as long as the rules given in the Material Safety Data sheets are followed. Does EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN contain heavy metals ? None Does EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN adhere to any surface when used together with SUPER PRIMER? Yes it does adhere. Where is it not recommended to apply EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN ? Not suited for interior coating in solvent tanks. Does SUPER PRIMER create a vapour-barrier ? When SUPERPRIMER is applied as a thin film (60-100µm range) water vapour will diffuse through it. What about shrinkage when EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN undergoes curing ? None Does EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN prevent roots from growing through it ? Yes . Refer to the corresponding test-report. ( See REPORTS ) How should EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN - leftovers or disposible tools be discarted ? Simply let dry out in the open air and dispose as plastic garbage. Is it necessary to apply a metal facia when refurbishing a flat roof with EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN ? Yes, reinforce the borders with ACRYLIC FLEECE Are the building cost to refurbish a flat roof with plastic sheets lower than using EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN ? No .The EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN treated roof comes to a cost-savings of 60%. Does EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN resist industrial atmosphere ? Absolutely yes What are the advantages of using EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN - against plastic sheeting ? Taking the usable lifetime into consideration , the EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN roof is 60% less expensive. Can EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN be used to seal joints ? Yes Is the EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN membrane chemical-resistant ? EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN is resistant against mild acids and alkalines as well as water-based salt solutions.EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN swells reversible under attack from solvents. Is EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN a good heat reflector ? Yes.Excellent. Roofs are being cooled in the summer and heat-loss is being reduced in the winter. Does EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN keep its rubber elasticity as it ages ? Yes At what freezing temperatures will EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN change from an elastic rubber to a brittle substance ? At minus 45 degrees Celsius What is the EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN "Pot Live" ? In a closed container EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN does not harden, since it is is a 1-component compound. Only when moisture from the air enters the container does a curing reaction set in and the fluid elastomer hardens at a rate of 4 mm /day. Are there any savings in labour time when using EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN ? Yes, 40% less time consuming over conventional products. Can EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN be combined with other sealing materials ? During repairs and with new roofs ? Yes.This is easily done and most roofers apply EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN on specific time consuming areas like roof-upstands and edge works, leaving the conventional products for the flat surfaces only. What are the advantages of EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN in comparison to conventional sealing methods ? The reduced working time (cost-savings) and the true seamless sealing capability of the liquid elastomer. Can the bucket of EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN be reused after being opened ? Yes. After closing the lid on the started can, turn it upside down. This produces self-sealing. B. Details /Surface Preparation: Yes.Absolutely. To what residual moisture content must a freshly poured concrete surface dry out before EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN can be applied on it ? Concrete is microporous and always contains moisture. Soak the concrete surface thoroughly with SUPER PRIMER and the following day EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN can be applied. What are the best materials to spatula-smooth irregularities on a roof surface when preparing for the EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN coating ? Use concrete, liquid aspalt or so called "construction foam" as fill-up, accordingly to roof construction. Is there a time-limit when to apply EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN on the SUPER PRIMER treated surface ? Wait at least 45 minutes but not more than 24 hours. Should porous insulation materials also first be coated with SUPER PRIMER ? Yes Should old sheet metal parts be replaced when restoring an old roof or can they simply be re-integrated into the new roof surface ? Slightly rusted metal sheets should be coated with EVERLAST®C.A.R.O.L anti-corrosion primer. (See info on the website www.everlast4steel.com ) Should SUPER PRIMER always be applied first ? Yes When treating an old polyurethane surface with EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN is it neccessary to also apply SUPERPRIMER ? Yes
Always treat old roof surfaces with SUPERPRIMER first. How can a neat borderseam be achieved with EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN ? Use a 40-80 mm (2 to 3 inches) wide adhesive "sticky" tape, which can be later be pulled off. Is it possible to avoid folded sheet metal profiles on flat roof edges with the EVERLAST®ROOFSKIN method? Yes, but only when this does not effect the roof-safety.(Slide-off protection)
